About us
Clinical simulation training is a bridge between classroom learning and real life clinical experience.
Here at the Rotherham Simulation Suite we recreate a wide range of clinical events and provide expert simulation training for professionals and students. In our training sessions we can recreate the general ward, emergency department, paediatrics and the community environment using our medium fidelity computerised manikins, which perform many realistic human functions. Additionally, our in situ simulation programmes take place in clinical areas such as theatres and Accident and Emergency.
Our clinical simulation scenarios are developed and delivered by our highly skilled faculty of doctors and nurses and they include: anaphylaxis, massive haemorrhage and sepsis. The scenarios are followed immediately by a supported reflective debriefing which allows for the exploration of human factors and individual and team performance.
Our mission statement:
To provide human factors, crisis management, and non-technical skills training for all healthcare professional disciplines within the Trust, through the pedagogy of clinical simulation and facilitated debrief. The overall goal is to achieve a high quality standard of care for our patients, within a safe environment where teamwork, communication, open exchange and leadership are paramount.
