LOCATION: Acute Surgical Unit, B Level, Junction 1
Usually ASU is the acute assessment bay for the newly admitted surgical patients, accepting patients mainly from GP and A&E referrals. The acute surgical cases represent the hard core of acute and emergency surgery and it is very relevant of your stage of training, so it is strongly recommended that you get involved.

You will report to ASU at either 8am or 2pm and join the on call team. Your duty will mainly be shadowing the F1/SHO on call, clerking patients, taking blood from patients, helping the on call team in assessing the new admissions
