BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
An echocardiogram (echo) is used in the diagnosis and follow-up of patients with congenital or acquired heart disease, for example, ACS, heart failure, valve problems and cardiomyopathy. Echo is also routinely used to assess and monitor patients with pulmonary hypertension, following a CVA/TIA, and for those receiving chemotherapy.
 
WHAT YOU MIGHT SEE/DO AT THE SESSION:
Observe the imaging and reporting of:
  • Transthoracic Echo (TTE), Adult/Paediatric, Outpatient/Inpatient
  • Transoesophageal Echo (TOE)
  • Contrast Echo.
