CMT offers a broad based training in medical specialties. It keeps your options open for ST3 if you have not yet decided in which specialty you wish to specialise at ST3. Completion of CMT training and MRCP is mandatory for ST3 training to become a consultant in one of the 30 medical specialties and allows the possibility of dual accreditation in a specialty and general internal medicine.

The programme offers a balance of experience with 1 year each in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and a District General Hospital. The area is geographically compact – all hospitals are within a 20 mile radius of Sheffield – compare that to some other LETBs! We offer a structured 2 year programme of training days to support the general medicine curriculum and a PACES course within the region before every sitting of the PACES exam.

Sheffield and the surrounding areas are a great place to live. Sheffield is a green and vibrant city and boasts a lively night life, cultural events, shopping and outstanding sporting facilities. Sheffield and the surrounding towns are situated in the Peak District National Park popular with enthusiasts of walking, climbing and cycling.
