Gateway Course
The Gateway Course (an Introduction to Medical Education) is aimed at all staff involved in the teaching of the University of Sheffield undergraduate medical students.
Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer
The title of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer (HSCL) is awarded to those consultant staff not directly funded by Sheffield University but who are actively involved in the delivery of the medical undergraduate curriculum. It is not a contract of employment but rather a title in recognition of the role played by the member of staff in the Associate Teaching Hospital.
As a general rule the HSCL status granted by Sheffield University is for a maximum of 3 years (as this ties in with the renewal of Sheffield computer accounts and Associate UCards). For first time application or re-application please note that a CV and evidence of involvement of teaching undergraduates (e.g. timetables and details of what is taught) are required which are then sent with a covering letter from Mr Stuart Richards (Director of Undergraduate Teaching) to the University. Please contact Kay Jaques for any further information.
