Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer
Title
The title of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer (HSCL) is awarded to those consultant staff not directly funded by Sheffield University but who are actively involved in the delivery of the medical undergraduate curriculum. It is not a contract of employment but rather a title in recognition of the role played by the member of staff in the Associate Teaching Hospital.
Application
To apply for the HSCL title send a CV with a covering letter outlining educational involvement to Mr Stuart Richards (Director of Medical Undergraduate Teaching). These will then be forwarded to Ruth Lilley at Sheffield University. Approval by the University will be granted in the form of a letter sent back to the applicant which can then be used to apply for MUSE. The approval for HSCL is signed by the Academic Unit of Medical Education, with which the person will be linked, and is then approved by the Faculty Director of Learning and Teaching for the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health.
If you have already applied for the HSCL title in the past but don't have written confirmation of this then this can be obtained by emailing your CV with a covering note to Ruth Lilley in the Medical School Staffing Office.
