Services
The Department of Urology in Rotherham offers a general Urology service for both adults and children. The hospital offers outpatient services, day and in patient surgery. The specialist urology services in Rotherham are:
Urolithiasis (Mr B Parys)
A specialist stone clinic is held on a monthly basis, with radiological and metabolic evaluation of patients.
Andrology (Mr I Edhem)
Weekly specialist andrology clinics in conjunction with Nurse Consultant Jan Farrell
Incontinence (Mr I Edhem)
Weekly clinic and urodynamics dedicated to all aspects of urinary incontinence and pelvic floor problems
Paediatrics (Mr B Parys)
Monthly paediatric clinics and operating slots
Oncology (Mr Abbasi/Miss B Wilkinson)
Weekly oncology clinic where breaking bad news skills and oncological management are discussed
The student doctors are welcome to the Urology Department in Rotherham and to attend all aspects of the service including MDT and X-ray meetings. Students have 2 weeks of timetabled urology with teaching in clinics, theatres and formal teaching.
Mr Parys is the Phase 3b Urology Lead. Students are encouraged to participate in ongoing audit projects and participate in departmental meetings.
