Services
The Urgent and Emergency Care Centre is very much the front door for most of the acute presentations entering the hospital. We see approximately 280 patients a day (over 100,000 patients a year).
The Department provides care to people suffering from injury or illness requiring urgent treatment. These are divided into Majors, Minors, Paediatrics and Primary Care. We are located on B level close to the Hospital Main entrance.
As a team of Consultants we have different interests that help towards the management of the department and hospital as a whole. We are all active supervisors for junior doctors as well as nurse practitioners.
The 8 week ACCS programme includes Emergency Medicine and Anaesthetics which provides small group teaching sessions, simulation and skills sessions in the Education Centre.
